Some newly offered cultivars MAY be added to our list after they leaf out
around mid-April. Others, including small, rare, and hard to graft cultivars,
may be added in September. Once a cultivar sells out, it remains so until
the following spring.

Maples ordered in summer may have burned leaves, and look bad, but this is only temporary. Still, spring and especially fall are far better times to ship and plant than summer. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F.
The name is translated as 'Evening Glow' because it appears to glow in some lights, and the color tone is also variable with lighting. Variegation is quite unusual, with crimson or brighter red variegation on some of the the already red leaves when young. An introduction by Maplewood Gardens, that is, J.D. Vertrees hisself, it has relatively large palmate leaves and grows to about 10'.
