Not a tiny dwarf at 6-10', but upright and willowy. A handsome shrub at any time, its claim to fame is several weeks of extraordinary hot pink color in the spring. Similar to Shindeshojo types in showiness, though of a much lighter tone, causing it to be known in some maple circles as Wilson's not-so-pink, not-so-dwarf. During summer, a light green shade mostly takes over, but red and pink tones remain on the old leaves and predominate on the new. Not among the more spectacular in fall, but quite unlike most other cultivars.
