previously-offered cultivars in spring.

Heat Stress:
Mild temperatures are best for shipping and planting. Maples ordered in summer may have browned leaves, but this is only temporary. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F. Fall is the preferred time for planting; spring is the next best time.
'Floating Clouds'
is the English name of this cultivar. Green and white
variegation (with pink added on new growth, especially in spring) is
one thing, but when you put this tree in full sun on a fairly dry site,
the
foliage will appear almost white from a little distance. A slow-
growing shrub that should reach 6-12' in many years, this is among
the most outstanding of the variegated cultivars. A little patience
is
required, first and second year trees often do not show variegation.
When it comes, though, it's very strong. As with 'Toyama nishiki',
some people love the variegation, some don't. 2nd year trees are
only about a foot tall.
