Tritonia

Hey, wait a minute. Although
it isn't permissible for a plant genus to bear the same name as another
plant genus, there are apparently no rules forbidding animal and plant
genera from sharing the same name. The Tritonia pictured above is a sea
slug. And a pretty one too, but it shows you that you have to be careful
which species you purchase! Gardners may prefer the following: |

Tritonia (disticha?) Grows to about 30", with narrow, sword-shaped leaves, and delicate pink fllowers from June or July through September. Prolific at both naturalizing and blooming. Another point in its favor is that no one will mistake it for a sea slug. Zone 9, or maybe 8 with good drainage and a dry mulch.
