A slender, upright, vase-shaped tree with sharply-pointed, star-shaped leaves and layered branches. In spring, the sturdy-looking leaves have red tips, with the color extending partway along the margins, and in fall they take on some of the most intense gold, orange, and crimson tones of any cultivar. The initially upright, then cascading habit is also distinctive. Rare.
