New
cultivars:
Some newly offered cultivars MAY be added to our list after they leaf out
around mid-April. Others, including small, rare, and hard to graft cultivars,
may be added in September. Once a cultivar sells out, it remains so until
the following spring.
Maples ordered in summer may have burned leaves, and look bad, but this is only temporary. Still, spring and especially fall are far better times to ship and plant than summer. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F.
Another of the variegated/reticulated types which change almost beyond recognition through the year or even on differently-exposed parts of the same tree. Leafs out with coppery tones, changing to green in summer, with prominent veins and deeply cut wavy lobes. A spreading shrub to 5 or 6'. A renaming of 'Will's Devine', and not much of an improvement, I'd say, for the problems in identification it will cause.
Size
#1 trees ship after they leaf out, usually early to mid-April.
Orders
placed between mid-March and mid-June may take 3 weeks to ship. For faster
service, order in the fall, an excellent time to plant. We can ship in winter,
but read this to see if
it's a good idea for you.
