Stress
Maples ordered in summer may have burned leaves, and look bad, but this is only temporary. Still, spring and especially fall are far better times to ship and plant than summer. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F.

In the general ballpark of 'Beni shichihenge' , Kagiri nishiki, and 'Butterfly', the leaves on this cultivar have somewhat longer, more graceful lobes, sometimes with maroon undersides, and generally more dramatic coloration. The top side of the leaf is bluegreen, with pink variegation on lobe edges and sometimes the whole lobe. The variegation holds well into the summer. Possibly a misstatement of the name 'Showa no mai'. Size
#1 trees ship after they leaf out, usually early to mid-April. |

Size
#3 trees are available
beginning September 1, and can be ordered until March 1. They are shipped bare-root
to save shipping costs. These trees are in very limited supply; many cultivars
are not available in this size. |
Orders
placed between mid-March and mid-June may take 3 weeks to ship. For faster
service, order in the fall, an excellent time to plant. We can ship in winter,
but read this to see if
it's a good idea for you. |
