Maples ordered in summer may have burned leaves, and look bad, but this is only temporary. Still, spring and especially fall are far better times to ship and plant than summer. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F. |

This tree was introduced in Australia, beginning as a witches' broom sport of 'Aoyagi' , and retains that cultivar's bright green stems. In fact, 'Shidava Gold' is pretty much a miniature 'Aoyagi', but with shorter internodes, more densely-packed buds, and therefore leaves that tend to layer. The leaves are a bright yellow-green in summer, and yellow with orange edging in fall. The habit is upright, but cascading, to perhaps 10' in a long time. As is often the case, some authorities say it will be smaller, and others say it will be larger. Size
#1 trees ship after they leaf out, usually early to mid-April. |

Size
#3 trees are available
beginning September 1, and can be ordered until March 1. They are shipped bare-root
to save shipping costs. These trees are in very limited supply; many cultivars
are not available in this size. |
Orders
placed between mid-March and mid-June may take 3 weeks to ship. For faster
service, order in the fall, an excellent time to plant. We can ship in winter,
but read this to see if
it's a good idea for you. |
