New cultivars:
Some newly offered cultivars MAY be added to our list after they leaf out around mid-April. Others, including small, rare, and hard to graft cultivars, may be added in September. Once a cultivar sells out, it remains so until the following spring.
Heat Stress:
Mild temperatures are best for shipping and planting. Maples ordered in summer may have browned leaves, but this is only temporary. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F. Fall is the preferred time for planting; spring is the next best time.
A nice deep red color in spring on this new cultivar, with pink new growth against the dark background. The color holds well until fall, when a striking scarlet takes over. Good form and size, probably not much over 12', though it's too early to know for sure.
Size #1 trees ship after they leaf out, usually early to mid-April.
