Maples ordered in summer may have burned leaves, and look bad, but this is only temporary. Still, spring and especially fall are far better times to ship and plant than summer. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F. |

A very interesting new cultivar from Kobayashi Nursery in Japan, with a radically weeping habit. Similar, to 'Jiro Shidare' and from the same nursery, but differs in that the branches emerge at a 45-degree angle and then weep dramatically, straight down, just a few inches from the trunk. Best planted on a steep slope or above a wall, or else trained upright before being allowed to weep. It's hard to specify a height on this tree, since this will depend on training. Green in summer with excellent orange-to-red fall color. The name indicates some kind of dragon, probably "ground dragon"; the branches will definitely be draggin' on the ground. Plant Patent 1850. Size #1 trees ship after they leaf out, usually early to mid-April. |

Size
#3 trees are available
beginning September 1, and can be ordered until March 1. They are shipped bare-root
to save shipping costs. These trees are in very limited supply; many cultivars
are not available in this size. |
Orders
placed between mid-March and mid-June may take 3 weeks to ship. For faster
service, order in the fall, an excellent time to plant. We can ship in winter,
but read this to see if
it's a good idea for you. |
