Ruth's
Red

New cultivars and larger sizes: We
now introduce new and selected rare cultivars in Sept., rather than with
previously-offered cultivars in spring.
|
|
Heat Stress: Mild temperatures are best for shipping and planting. Maples ordered in summer may have browned leaves, but this is only temporary. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F. Fall is the preferred time for planting; spring is the next best time. |

Yet another of Bloodgood's ubiquitous progeny? Why bother? In this case, because the tree has extremely dark red color, possibly even darker than 'Tsukushigata' and 'Lozita'. It's also a larger tree and thereby more dramatic. Large (5") serrated leaves, excellent color-holding characteristics, and outstanding hot red fall color round out the picture. Oh, wait, there isn't any picture. Size #1 trees ship after they leaf out, usually early to mid-April. |

|
You
can order new grafts (size #1) anytime after Jan. 1, but we don't ship
them until after they leafed out, usually around mid-April.
|
We
ship with the US Postal Service. Shipping of more than 6 trees to postal
zones 5 and higher may incur a shipping surcharge that will not show up
in your shopping cart.
