Maples ordered in summer may have burned leaves, and look bad, but this is only temporary. Still, spring and especially fall are far better times to ship and plant than summer. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F.

One of the Shindeshojo types that feature incredible dayglo-pink spring color, but with the twist that it sports two kinds of leaves on the same plant; those on new, vigorous growth have larger, deeply separated lobes that radiate outward. Those on older, less vigorous shoots are smaller, with narrow, parallel lobes. Both are brilliantly-colored in spring, changing to bluish-pink and then green. A small tree to about 8' that is generally agreed to be an outstanding cultivar. We normally take pleasure in name translations, but in this case, due to the connotations of English slang, we're just going to leave it alone. Size
#1 trees ship after they leaf out, usually early to mid-April. |

Size
#3 trees are available
beginning September 1, and can be ordered until March 1. They are shipped bare-root
to save shipping costs. These trees are in very limited supply; many cultivars
are not available in this size. |
Orders
placed between mid-March and mid-June may take 3 weeks to ship. For faster
service, order in the fall, an excellent time to plant. We can ship in winter,
but read this to see if
it's a good idea for you. |
