Oshu shidare
An elegant, graceful tree with an upright habit but with cascading pendulous branches, somwhat in the manner of a laceleaf, but larger, darker in color, and with broader-lobed leaves. Mounds to 10-12'. Basically maroon leaves that may bronze some in summer sun, and flare up crimson in fall. One of the rarer cultivars in this country, it is well-established in Japan, it has a habit something like a weeping willow, or a red version of 'Omure yama'.
