Maples ordered in summer may have burned leaves, and look bad, but this is only temporary. Still, spring and especially fall are far better times to ship and plant than summer. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F.

A distincive 6' dwarf with small, lime-green new leaves that are described as looking like parachutes. Deeper green takes over as leaves age, making a contrasting background. Layered, compact habit, but vigorous. An elegant little tree, upright but bushy, with a very pretty brightest yellow fall color, and green bark for winter interest. Rarely seen. The name is a mystery; possibly the English spelling doesn't match the Japanese word; possibly it is a person or place name; possibly it is a related word meaning "beautiful snowflakes falling like windblown flower petals". But probably not. Size #1 trees ship after they leaf out, usually early to mid-April. |

Size
#3 trees are available
beginning September 1, and can be ordered until March 1. They are shipped bare-root
to save shipping costs. These trees are in very limited supply; many cultivars
are not available in this size. |
Orders
placed between mid-March and mid-June may take 3 weeks to ship. For faster
service, order in the fall, an excellent time to plant. We can ship in winter,
but read this to see if
it's a good idea for you. |
