Maples ordered in summer may have burned leaves, and look bad, but this is only temporary. Still, spring and especially fall are far better times to ship and plant than summer. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F.

The pointed leaves on this dwarf form overlap, forming a dense mat. The bright green leaves are a bit larger than on most yatsubusa types, but their long, narrow lobes are quite graceful, crowded onto short stems and overlapping like shingles. It is a small, compact plant, perhaps reaching 6' about when the lion lies down with the lamb. Rare and in demand for its neat, unusual habit. Introduced by J.D. Vertrees in the 1960s |

Size
#2 trees are available
beginning September 1, and can be ordered until March 1. Starting in November,
they can be shipped bare-root to save shipping costs. These trees are in very
limited supply; many cultivars are not available in this size.
|
Orders
placed between mid-March and mid-June may take 3 weeks to ship. For faster
service, order in the fall, an excellent time to plant. We can ship in winter,
but read this to see if
it's a good idea for you. |
