Koto maru

I'm not sure why the Japanese see so many of their dwarf
trees as being like the stringed musical instrument, the koto.
And I can't imagine a round koto, but that's how this name
would appear to translate. It is a small, slow-growing dwarf
that may reach 5' in about forever. Bronze-edged new growth
turns medium green in summer, then deep red in fall. It
is indeed round (maru). Middle leaf lobe is shorter and
blunter then the others, as in 'Shaina'.
