Stress
Maples ordered in summer may have burned leaves, and look bad, but this is only temporary. Still, spring and especially fall are far better times to ship and plant than summer. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F.

"Red Beautiful Little Girl" is a rare cultivar, somewhat difficult to propagate. It is a shrub that may reach 6-10' tall in a long time. The leaf shape is quite unusual, and the color is a bright crimson in spring, fading to red-green with red edging by midsummer. New growth is also red, sometimes in long shoots, which makes the plant technichally taller than it appears. Growth is fine and twiggy. Introduced by J.D. Vertrees in the 1970s. New grafts ship after they leaf out, usually early to mid-April. |

Size
#3 trees are available
beginning September 1, and can be ordered until March 1. They are shipped bare-root
to save shipping costs. These trees are in very limited supply; many cultivars
are not available in this size. |
Orders
placed between mid-March and mid-June may take 3 weeks to ship. For faster
service, order in the fall, an excellent time to plant. We can ship in winter,
but read this to see if
it's a good idea for you. |
