A subtly variegated maple with spring foliage that is pink- or light orange-red when it first emerges, then, as this color fades, becomes covered with a subdued streaking and speckling of cream and pale green suffused with red. The coloring is soft, and distinct from other variegates. A small, bushy tree, usually to about 10'.
