Maples ordered in summer may have burned leaves, and look bad, but this is only temporary. Still, spring and especially fall are far better times to ship and plant than summer. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F.

A highly variegated
cultivar to about 12'. Although it has prominent white variegation,
it is even better-known for its bright pink new growth on both leaves
and twigs. This is the case both in spring and through the year, especially
in midsummer, when maples have a strong growth period. In the fall,
the white portion of the leaves turns a bright rose pink, while the
green portion stays green. This cultivar needs shade from hot sun in
order to protect the white leaf portions from burning. It is also somewhat
tender and not recommended for the colder zones. Growth should not exceed
10-12', with a bit less spread. |

Size
#2 trees are available
beginning September 1, and can be ordered until March 1. Starting in November,
they can be shipped bare-root to save shipping costs. These trees are in very
limited supply; many cultivars are not available in this size.

Orders
placed between mid-March and mid-June may take 3 weeks to ship. For faster
service, order in the fall, an excellent time to plant. We can ship in winter,
but read this to see if
it's a good idea for you. |
