Many newly grafted cultivars are added to our list after they leaf out around
mid-April. Others, including small, rare, and hard to graft cultivars, are
added in September. Once a cultiver sells out, it remains so until the following
spring.

Maples ordered in summer may have burned leaves, and look bad, but this is only temporary. Still, spring and especially fall are far better times to ship and plant than summer. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F.
A japonicum that
will serve as a substitute for a laceleaf
maple in places too cold for those to grow very large.
'Green Cascade' is somewhat similar to the "Fernleaf
Full Moon Maple", with very deeply cut lobes, but these
lobes are much narrower, more in the fashion of a dissectum.
The habit is also quite different. This is a 6-10' tree that
has long, cascading branches, the effect of which may be
enhanced by staking. The medium green summer gives
way to typically glorious japonicum combination of deep
scarlet, orange, and yellow.
Orders
placed between mid-March and mid-June may take 3 weeks to ship. For faster
service, order in the fall, an excellent time to plant. We can ship in winter,
