Maples ordered in summer may have burned leaves, and look bad, but this is only temporary. Still, spring and especially fall are far better times to ship and plant than summer. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F. |

Bonsai officianados
bristle at the notion of grafts, but cultivars need to be vegetatively
propagated, and most cultivars don't do well on their own roots, so
grafting is a necessity. Here's an exception: 'Goshiki kotohime' is
a densely-branched dwarf that grows slowly to only 3-5' in the ground,
and is sufficiently vigorous on its own roots that it can be propagated
by cuttings, so we are able to offer it at a lower price than grafted
cultivars. Size
#1 trees ship after they leaf out, usually early to mid-April. |

|
Size
#3 trees are available
beginning September 1, and can be ordered until March 1. They are shipped bare-root
to save shipping costs. These trees are in very limited supply; many cultivars
are not available in this size. |
Orders
placed between mid-March and mid-June may take 3 weeks to ship. For faster
service, order in the fall, an excellent time to plant. We can ship in winter,
but read this to see if
it's a good idea for you. |
