around mid-April. Others, including small, rare, and hard to graft cultivars,
may be added in September. Once a cultiver sells out, it remains so until
the following spring.

Maples ordered in summer may have burned leaves, and look bad, but this is only temporary. Still, spring and especially fall are far better times to ship and plant than summer. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F.
The most dissected japonicum, moreso even than 'Green Cascade', of which it's a seedling selection. It is also very slow-growing, usually 6" a year and probably topping out around 5', with an upright, horizontally-branched habit. The best feature of the tree may be its fall color, an intense scarlet common to japonicums, but seldom seen on so lacy a leaf. A new introduction from Yamina Rare Plants in Australia.
