Heat
Stress
Maples ordered in summer may have burned leaves, and look bad, but this is only temporary. Still, spring and especially fall are far better times to ship and plant than summer. We'll delay shipments when temperatures exceed 90 F. |

Also synonymous
with 'Linearilobum Atropurpureum', this nicely-shaped tree starts out
deep purple, then fades to bronze in the heat of summer, and finally
changes to a bright, clear, golden yellow in fall. It should grow to
about 8-10'. There are several cultivars that have different names,
but authorities can't decide whether they're really different cultivars,
since their growing conditions are different. |

Size
#2 trees are available
beginning September 1, and can be ordered until March 1. Starting in November,
they can be shipped bare-root to save shipping costs. These trees are in very
limited supply; many cultivars are not available in this size.

Orders
placed between mid-March and mid-June may take 3 weeks to ship. For faster
service, order in the fall, an excellent time to plant. We can ship in winter,
but read this to see if
it's a good idea for you. |
