Ordering, online or off, with the shopping cart To find plants, use the Google search engine at the upper left corner of the home page, or the A-Z index just below it, or the photographic index on the same page. If you click on a letter, you'll be taken to an index page listing all the plants whose botanical name begins with that letter, most with thumbnail photos. Click on the name or the photo to go to the page where you can see, read about, and order the plant. If you want to purchase a plant, click on the 'Add' button below its description. The plant will quickly be placed in your shopping cart. If there are other plants in the same genus on the page, you'll continue to see the same page. If there are no other plants in the same genus, you'll be taken back to the index page for that letter. For example, if you 'Add' Abutilon megapotamicum, that plant will be placed in your cart and you'll continue to see the Abutilon page, because there are 1 or 2 other plants on the same page. However, if you 'Add' Acaena inermis, the plant will be added to your cart and then you'll be taken to the index page with all the other plants starting with 'A', because there's only one Acaena offered, so there's nothing else to do on the Acaena page. Just for drill, you can try ordering some Magic Beans. Go ahead and click on the 'Add' button. Don't worry, we won't charge you a cow for them, and you won't get in trouble with your mother. Magic Beans, 1 pkt.
Depending on how fast your connection is, maybe you didn't see anything hapen. But if you clicked the button, the beans were added to your cart. At any time, you can see what's in your shopping cart by clicking on any shopping cart icon. This icon is at the bottom of nearly every page, and at the top of some. Anywhere you find it, clicking on it will show you the contents of your cart. Click on it now. When you've looked over your cart, click "Continue Shopping", or else on your 'Back' button. Important note: If you click on the 'Add' button, but your shopping cart remains empty, you probably don't have cookies enabled on your browser. For instructions on how to rectify this, click here. At any time, you can remove any item in your cart by clicking on the 'remove' button below that item in your cart. You can view your cart as often as you like, so if you want to look at the 'remove' button or any of the boxes or buttons described below, just come back to this spot and click on the shopping cart icon again. At any time, you can change your mind and leave the website with lots of things in your cart. Nothing will happen, you have not bought anything, you won't hear from us. There is no transaction until you click on the "purchase for $x.xx" on the cart page. Even then, you haven't bought anything until you send us a credit card number or a check. This means that if you're having trouble understanding the process, you can play with it to your heart's content until you're comfortable. You don't have to click on an item 2 or 3 different times in order to
place 2 or 3 specimens of the same plant in your cart (although that will
work). You can change the quantity of any item in the cart by taking 2
steps. First, select and change the number 1 to the number you want, e.g.
3. Then click the "change" button. If you don't click the change
button, the quantity won't be changed. Please remember we have a 3-of-a-kind
limit on our plants. Find your postal (shipping) zone Right below your list of plants, there's a box with the header "Choose Postal Zone". Click the down arrow in the box for a list of zones, and select the one you're in. It's important to do this after you've finished adding plants to the shopping cart, or the cart may revert to its default (zones 1-3) and give you an inaccurate shipping charge. It'll be too low, and we'll have to notify you that your order will cost more than you thought. Pay by Credit Card, Check, or Money Order The next thing down the page is a button that says "Purchase for $xx.xx" Click that. If you have selected payment by credit card, you'll see a page for input of your address information. There's also a box for you to add your comments, perhaps a list of acceptable substitutes, pehaps a note for the recipient if the order is a gift, perhaps some other comment for us. If you don't want us to substitute, leave the box blank. It is not necessary to say "no substitutes". We don't do it, we never have, we never will. After making your comments, if any, click on the 'Enter' button at the bottom. You'll see a form for filling in your credit information. Do that, click "Authorize Payment", and you're done. Anytime up until you hit the "Authorize Payment" button, you can stop and go away with no consequences. Even after you've done that, if you have buyer's remorse, email us and say so. We do not charge your card until the order is collected and ready for packing. Or, Pay with PayPal If you like, instead of typing yoiur list, you can use the shopping cart to calculate the total, then choose "pay by check or money order" to get a printable copy of your order. Then you can "select all", and "copy" that order and paste it into the email you send us. This is separate from sending the payment via PayPal. Special Orders This button creates a blank order for the sole purpose securely transmitting
your credit information. You can use the comment/substitutes box near
the end of the ordering process to mention the plant(s) the order is supposed
to be for, but if you don't, we can match up what we agreed to send you
with your name and email address. Don't make this harder than it is; it's
a blank order. The details of the order, except for the credit info, are
handled via email, not in the order itself. Problems |
